Introduction
In a September evening in 1996, in a hundred-fifty year old Raj Bunglow of VSNL Pune, two trainee engineers, one from Bengal and another from Malabar looked at the distant communication antennas and wireless masts. They looked at wonder-eyed at all the communication devices and installation which they learnt so much in last four years. For them, the large antennas seemed to be holding million invisible conversations in space.
After twelve years, they joined again, in Calcutta to launch a venture need of which they felt in all these years. A yuga in which India and Indian Telecom changed profoundly. So changed Indian educational framework. They worked in all parts of the country, sometimes in distant countries, even abroad cableships laying optical fibre cable, learning more about Telecom in the Halls of IIT, Kharagpur and Strathclyde – in Cisco Labs and in NEC Plants.
The need still remains and possibly will always remain: To share, to tell the stories, to empower and to be intimate with them so they can be led from the world of class to the world of business.
Embrace the Leadership, in final analysis, represents ours and perhaps, every generation’s return to connect to the earlier selves.
